Welcome to a space of non-judgemental support and compassionate guidance
At the listening rabbit, we offer empathetic listening, support and information, connection and peer support, drawing on the lived experience of raising children and supporting our own and other neurodivergent children.
We aim to help empower parents and carers to build their parenting skills, knowledge and capacity to create a more connected and happy family unit.
For families of neurodivergent children, we can help you navigate the challenges that may come with supporting your child, through the NDIS and services available.
Welcome to Our Supportive Services
Parent & Therapeutic Supports
Listening, supporting and guiding parents in helping their children thrive, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
Helping families to reframe behaviour and learn and practice positive behavioural practices.
By gaining an understanding of the need behind a child’s behaviour, we can problem solve together to find collaborative solutions, helping you strengthen relationships in the family home, and learn practical skills to apply in your daily life.
Advocacy & Pathways
Providing families with the support they need to navigate complex systems and access resources.
Empowering and enhancing the ability of parents and caregivers to access suitable community and NDIS support systems.
Assisting parents and caregivers in developing and nurturing their advocacy skills.
Helping to advocate with schools and/or health care professionals to ensure the best outcomes for your child.
Centre Visits & ELC / School Observations
Working towards more neuro-affirming Early Learning Centres. We can visit for observation sessions and then formulate a plan of how things can be set up to ensure the whole team is working toward the same goal; that all of the children feel safe, supported and secure.
Equally, we can organise to observe your child in their early learning/school environment, to gain a better sense of how and where they might be struggling. We can then work with parents and help them advocate for the inclusive and individualised support their child needs and deserves.
As a qualified Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practitioner and a passionate advocate for children, with 25 years of experience in supporting children and families, I offer a kind and listening ear and a dash of wisdom to support parents through the ups and downs of raising little humans. Let's navigate this wild journey together!
